Our Favorite Tracks This Week
By Emma Peters, Durand Jones & The Indications, The Main Ingredient, Skinshape..
We kept the playlists on shuffle until a song forced us to look up from the screen. Six tracks made the cut this week. They don’t belong to any one genre, but they all flip the light switch in a room the instant they start.
Skinshape – “I Won’t Be There”
Seven unhurried minutes of sun-bleached psych-funk. Dusty drums shuffle, guitars drift, the bass yawns wide. Perfect for watching scenery slide past a train window you’re not ready to leave. Just listen to that guitar at 3:15. ▶︎ Listen
The Main Ingredient – “Let Me Prove My Love to You”
Rhodes keys glow, congas breathe, harmonies glide. You already know the first bars—Alicia Keys sampled them, so pressing play feels like finding the doorway behind a familiar wall.

Emma Peters – “Clandestina (Acoustic)”
A nylon-string guitar and half-whispered beautiful vocals. Close your eyes and you’re in a shuttered Paris café. ▶︎ Listen
Durand Jones & The Indications – “Is It Any Wonder?”
Aaron Frazer’s falsetto floats over doo-wop guitar and brushed snares. It’s the sound of leaning on a jukebox five minutes before closing, hoping the right person hears the lyrics. ▶︎ Listen
Tontela feat. Ski – “On My Way”
Smooth enough for sunset, catchy enough for repeat. This track will be our new commute companion.
▶︎ Listen
Takkra – “The Ritual (Original Mix)”
Hand-drum pulse and desert-air synths that rises like dawn on the horizon. Let the track swell in your headphones and watch the walls fall away.

On My Way was a surprise favorite for me. First I’ve ever heard of them.
