I loved that song from the very first time I heard it, so long ago. It gave me a confidence I needed. I would just say the same about Rolls Royce’s lovely I’m Wishing On A Star
Might I say that Floyd and Dylan, way back in the seventies warned us in their masterpieces Us and Them and Masters of War of the misery to come. Fifty years later, these songs have never been more relevant than they are today.
Here is some backstory on this (if you're like me, someone who keeps wondering where the new crop of talented female vocalists is in this decade--ones that can sing without autotune or wearing only a g-string and bikini top).
Valerie Carter, who is sampled in this David Lynchian-like production, was an in-demand backup vocalist in the 70s and 80s (James Taylor, Linda Rondstadt, Don Henley, Jackson Browne, etc.)
She eventually signed up with Columbia and made one of the best maiden voyage albums of the decade. A slew of fantastic producers worked with her on the album, and I often stream the record today--primarily for her version of the Five Stairstep's Ooh Child, sampled in this Low Motion Disco track.
Much, much better than this low wattage effort are amazing deepening remixes and smashings of classic pop, rock, and soul tunes found all over Soundcloud by basically anonymous computer remixing geniuses like Gube and other names that right now escape me.
Sample incredible reanimations: Black Betty, Bryan Adams, Aretha's Rock Steady, Spooky.
Where's the voices and singing? The words to that song are great. For some reason they decided not to sing them. They also repeat the same few notes over and over. Reminds me of a scratch in an LP and the needle keeps playing the same few notes. Come on.......you can do better....try again but look up the words to that old song this time and sing them. ;)
The definitive hit version was by the Chicago vocal group The Five Stairsteps from 1970.
came here to say that...thank you.

First time I’ve ever found myself doing a slow-mo belly dance to a fantastic old R&B lullaby
Love it. Never would have found it on my own. Thanks.
Lovely, another great find ❤️

Thank you so much for turning us on to Low Motion Disco. Exactly the vibes I have needed!

Be patient darling, they will sing. When they’re ready. Like 2 1/2 minutes in. And it’s real nice.🩷
The singing begins at 2:49.
