Not enough Beethoven yet — so I’m still waiting for that classical vibe to balance out the chaos. But seriously, your music picks hit that sweet spot between “oh yeah, I forgot I loved this” and “how did I never hear this before?” Keep sending, because my playlist needs the help, and you’re doing a solid job.
📌 The best kind of musical sidekick: surprising, reliable, and occasionally classical.

I voted 'slightly dissatisfied' but that's actually not entirely true🙄. I love discovering new (and old) music and the SL recommendations at times hit the sweet spot. I'm however often slightly dissatisfied with the suggestions to the (fun and creative) SL questions in that sense that's it's often a little bit "middle of the road".
I prefer it when you ask us what we like or name a song that starts with an R' I received enjoy the stuff, but I've never been a fan of when you're asked to listen to somethin you've posted, as being a high end guitar Luthier you wouldn't believe the amount of song's that get sent to me on multiple platforms, for some reason they think I've got some pull with the labels when I don't and I do understand why they think I do.
My taste in music as an octogenarian is jazz and the “Great American Songbook” so I listen to swing, hard bop, post bop, Bossa Nova. I like some rock, but mourn the loss of melody and nuance. But of course that is personal and not really relevant criticism. You promote music you like and I appreciate that a lot!
I chose “highly satisfied,” because I enjoy what you do here. Although I don’t necessarily connect with *all* of your suggestions, I appreciate the opportunity to consider them. Otherwise, I love when you recommend pearls, I’ve long forgotten about, along with new material which goes directly into my archive.
I find your recommendations interesting, some new and some I’ve heard. Those that are new I explore while engaging in subscriber banter to those familiar BUT what makes you one of my most important contributors are Home Runs. New music that takes over and pushes everything else to the side. For example, Mezzanine by Massive Attack. It dominated my listening for an entire month. I don’t need many of those each year to make you worth every penny. Thanks.
I like the variety you share. Some I have added to my music account and then again some I’m wondering what you’re smoking or better yet, what they were. Ha
I’ve really enjoyed this substack. It’s been a great trip down memory lane (coming from an old fogie such as myself). Absolutely loved the recent 1980s-themed discussion. Those were my college years. Would also love to see readers’ suggestions regarding rock with strings (excluding the obvious ELO). Keep up the great work!!

One song you shared created a whole playlist for me, so I am super happy. Thank you.
