Dear Songletter - how do you organise all your music Genre and artist or just artist? I'm asking because my playlists and single-saved discoveries are overflowing, thanks to you and Spotify mayhem! Maybe a good discussion thread topic?
Yeah, could use some tips on organizing as well. Currently, using playlists based on genres. It works, but it's not ideal. We'll be following your thread.
I hope someone has a good answer to your question. It sure ain't me. I've got tons of Spotify playlists grouped in all kinds of ways. My biggest one is my personal "radio station" (W K E D), which is almost 10,000 tunes, all hand-picked by me over the years, and meant to be shuffled at all times. The criteria has been, simply, "if this song came on the radio, would I be happy to hear it or would I ignore it or turn it off?" I have many other playlists -- some grouped by my favorite albums of the given year, others by artist or genre, and many other sub-groupings. Of course, I can never find the song I want to hear, so I search Spotify to grab it. So, I do NOT recommend my approach to all this, but I wouldn't change a thing.
I've named playlists by dates with events, like a music-journal. Good or bad, the playlist is immortalised/glued to an event. The 'mood' playlists curated by spotfy can't hit the mark as easily as those 'event-mood' reminders!
The only song I ever heard by Snowy White, and it’s a great one, is Birds of Paradise, a FANTASTIC song. I never listened to any of his other music and I certainly never knew he was the guitarist from Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy. But listening to this album I feel like I need to do a dive into his catalog. Thanks for putting this on my radar!!
Ultra mega frustrating to not be able to play this LOUD right now, but I'm in the middle of teaching a highschool English class and my students are concentrating HARD. I'm tempted to jolt them out of their work, but have worked too hard to achive this communal zen state which allowed me, for a moment, to justify opening this post. Sure looking forward to it. Going to Hendrix Experience tonight at Paramount in Seattle. Last I saw it, about 25 years ago, it blew my mind, the many ways Jimi inspired, led, founded a new kind of community. Delighted is probably a better word than surprised, because we all know what Jimi can do. Even so, the concentration of talent was astounding. My you all experience such a thing, once, twice, often as possible!
Wowser! This is so good.

Could you open a discussion thread for your readers? I think they'll be a larger response and we could all do with more ideas!

Yep, we went diving yesterday and found some great stuff! Really loved 'Bird of Paradise' too.
Sooo glad this found my way to me! A blast from my past.
….mind you, there are reasons why Snowy didn’t focus on his vocals.
My son and his friend have a Spotify playlist consisting of songs they hear in Wawas and supermarkets. Hilarious and actually pretty good.
Very cool…..thanks for sharing. A great new find.
Glad you found it!

Appreciate you sharing! Hopefully, you'll get to turn it up soon, it's meant to be played loud!
Thanks for turning me on to Snowy White! How in the hell was I so totally unaware of this guy for all my 81 years?
It’s wild how some great artists slip under the radar. But hey, there’s always time to discover new music, enjoy diving into his stuff!
Ooh nice...can hear sounds of Floyd.
