Discover more from Songletter
Time flies, and it's been nearly ten months since we launched Songletter, all motivated by a sole objective - to highlight the exceptional music we discover.
Today, we stand with a sense of pride and deep gratitude as we mark the achievement of crossing 3.000 subscribers from 60 different countries!
So, a heartfelt thank you to you for being a part of this journey! Your presence and encouragement really mean a lot to us.
A Few Learnings on Time and Consistency
Starting a newsletter can be quite challenging, especially when you're beginning without an established audience. In the world of music, everyone's tastes vary greatly.
What resonates with one person might not have the same effect on another.
However, over time and with consistency, the journey becomes smoother. You connect with fellow music enthusiasts who share the same interest, and activity starts to pick up.
Furthermore, the incredible support by other writers here on Substack has been priceless. Their encouragement has played a pivotal role in our reach and has helped us in building a community of music enthusiasts who share our passion for music and discovery.
“If you want to break out of a listening rut, Songletter is an excellent music discovery newsletter. By showcasing a wide variety of curated tracks, they are bound to broaden your musical horizons.”
Pete Droge, Love Songs Etc
“Songletter has dropped so many new songs into my mental jukebox. The joy of discovery!”
Sherman Alexie, Sherman Alexie
“Unexpected song recommendations every week”
Chris Dalla Riva, Can't Get Much Higher
A Few Learnings on Posting
Ultimately, our objective is for you to hit the play link in our posts and allow the music to speak, as that's where the authentic magic resides.
We try to keep our posts slightly shorter than other newsletters. We've noticed that when we keep our posts shorter and to the point, the click rate goes up.
Feedback?
Now, we would like to ask you if there's anything you'd like us to change, do more of, or do less of going forward? Please let us know in the comments below. Your feedback is valuable and much appreciated.
Once again, thank you for being a subscriber!
Any feedback (positive or negative) is greatly appreciated 🙏
A Few Reflections after 10 Months on Substack
Wow, 3000!?? It's especially impressive, as we music writers tend not to proliferate the way the political and economics newsletters do here. Congrats!
I don't know how to write short posts, so I'll try and be happy with my couple hundred subscribers, who I hope are making it to the end of my writes!:)
Congrats, Good job! Great inspiration, a lot to learn from you 🙏
