It's so good it had to be an accident. So full of joy and beauty and hope. There's the musicianship, of course, but there are many great musicians in the world, and Ian Brown can barely hold a tune.. It's the alchemy of the four of them.
“Golden Brown” is a masterpiece of a song. The best single thing Guy Ritchie ever did was put that song in “Snatch”, thus introducing it to an another generation.
What a bass riff, what an album, what an interesting story about why it took them so long to record their second album. Here's an idea for another post - listing all the bands that were the "next Beatles" - Stone Roses, ELO, Badfinger, The Knack, etc., etc.
I’ve always “adored” this album! Great memories of being young and in love.
One of the single greatest debut albums of all time.
All I have to see is the band name and I know what is happening next. Love it to death.

Wow! Another winner. The whole album is amazing. Too bad they didn't stick around for very long. So, so good.
The whole album
An album I bought at the time and have never tried off, each track is captivating in its own way. Guitar heaven
"tired"
Any go wrong with The Stone Roses….and if you like a good dirty bass…..Listen to the Stranglers “ Nice n Sleazy”

Thx, David!
What an album! Tends to come out on a hot summer evening after several bottles…tables get broken..etc
Even the Jackson Pollock on the cover is perfect. This was the soundtrack of my youth in suburban NJ.
What an album! Still play it now
Great-sounding instruments! I love the sound, which takes me back to the 1980s.
